Welcome to the Forum for Music in Ireland website.
We are an independent voluntary umbrella body founded in 1999 to represent organisations and individuals in the fields of traditional, contemporary, rock, popular and jazz music.
We have over 400 members that range from students to large arts organisations, from performers and promoters to politicians and educators. Our main focus is on providing opportunities for members to meet in order to network and 'talk shop', stimulated by presentations from invited experts in areas related to current issues in music.
Previous speakers at our meetings have included Tania Banotti (Theatre Forum), pianist John O'Conor, Director of The Temple Bar Cultural Trust Dermot McLaughlin, journalist Ian Kilroy and Director of Public Affairs at the Arts Council, Sean MacCarthaigh.
